Its to lower the amount of applicants to a reasonable number. Especially if there is a fairly high unemployement rate, that means companies are going to get a lot more applicants, and potentially somebody that actually does fit there way too high requirements, but since its "entry level" they'll be paid less. If nobody actually fits their reqs, they'll go through the other people that applied anyway and pick the one they like (which is what usually happens, so if you think you'd actually be a good fit, by all means apply even if you don't quite fit the requirements)
Agreed. Just because corporate logic can be explained and understood, doesn't make it ok.
It's misleading and false representation. Good job sites will delete those postings when they are found or reported.
I don't know if "false" or "advertising" are the right words to describe this, but when I'm on third party sites, (Monster, ect.) I report listings like this.
