my thoughts exactly, I don't know why they do that in quatar and in UAE . I wear the Hijab and I WEAR FUCKING BRIGHT COLORS WOOT WOOT .
also,this is all these women wear,like no Jeans,no skirts,no sweaters ... Weird,really
Actually, it's because black absorbs heat instead of reflecting it. The body emits heat. So when wearing white, which is a good reflector of heat, the heat is reflected back into the body. When wearing black, sure it absorbs heat from the sun. But it also absorbs heat from inside the body. Once it has absorbed heat, it has to have some way to radiate it away. So if there's even little wind, black clothing is the better choice for those who want to keep cool.
I'm American (Born and raised in New York City) but my dad is Muslim so I had to wear the hijab once I became a young pre-teen. But that was only after moving to the Middle East for a year & having to live that full lifestyle as most Muslims do that we're raised there. At the time I was okay with it until after being back in America I started to miss being able to style my hair & not covering it up. But my dad was strict and always told me that I needed to always wear it outside. But thankfully, even though it took many years, my dad finally gave me the okay to not wear it. My dad is somewhat open minded for an Arab & I am glad for that since not many Arab girls have it that easy. But it did take him 9 years to let me have my freedom with that though (I'm turning 19 next month). Im sorry for the long comment but I just wanted to share my story. Some Muslim women like to wear all of that from head to toe but I hope that more Muslim girls get to actually choose for themselves more often.
Muslims wear the burka to avoid attracting attention to themselves. They want to be judged on personality and actions (e.g. at work) rather than looks. They want to preserve they're looks for husband and family only.
Here's an analogy:
Say I have two sweets, one still has the wrapping over it, while the other has been unwrapped. I throw both sweets on the ground. Which one do you want?
No. Just no. You cannot compare a human being to a piece of candy, a women is just as valuable if she is not a virgin. I see your point and all and understand what you're saying but I'm tired of people thinking that just because someone isnt a Virgin they arent worth anything, that simply isnt how the world works, that is just society being screwed up. However I understand that they might want to save their bodies for their significant other and respect that a lot and also wish more people would do that, my only issue is with your analogy not with the point you are trying to make.
He never Said anything about virginity. He meant more like the unwrapped one is the one who wears the burka and shows her beauty through her actions... Atleast How I see it...
The analogy is trying to get across that if you were offered two identical women, one has lost their virginity to an unknown amount of other sexual partners, and the other has kept themselves for the special someone. Which would you choose...
I'm a UAE national and yes we do wear those annoying black dress called abaya in a desert country, but it's culture, plus the hijab we call it sheila. FYI, we do we wear jeans, long skirt, and tshirt inside the abaya. The ones who don't are older women, but the younger ones like me, we love fashion too and follow the trend if it's possible. Maybe you just haven't seen the UAE national in this generation, yet. We even have gamer girls!! Believe it or not...... Plus, only few women wear burqa, if their husband says so, but mostly Saudi Arabian women wear because of their stricter husband.
Well I'm Qatari and we wear black because it is traditional and btw to the one who said that we don't wear jeans or sweaters dear were the second richest country in the world how can't we wear such things our clothes are from the most luxurious brands in the world we wear it all lol and if you don't know about a thing search about it don't just talk shits without knowing< this is not one :)
Another reason why it's black and not so colourful is because even when wearing the hijab and abaya one must not attract attention and black helps to do that
