I get the point. And I loooove Mulan, but I just need to say this, listen.
I see people saying Ariel left her world and changed herself to be with te man she wanted, but I think it isn't true. I think she was already there, she was born in a wrong body and didn't change, just became what she always wanted to be, to live happy with herself.
As a person with an ambiguous gender identity, I identify strongly with this, and well, I just wanted to say it.
Thanks (◕‿◕✿)
Well, also in the original story she didn't end up with him. The author wrote it about his love for a man who didn't want to be with him and sent it to him. I don't remember the reply.
I know, In the original, she dies, because the prince married someone else and she junped back into the ocean even when the witch told her she would die if she did
Yeah, her sisters came up (they had traded their hair for legs) and gave her a knife to kill the prince cause he didn't like her, but she chose not to and jumped into the ocean to become sea foam. The originals are always better.
Okay, don't get me wrong, I love mulan! It's my favorite Disney movie...but she is not a princess. Sure she marries a general, but it doesn't make her a princess/queen.
