Well some schools ( if not all ) have a program for free lunches. You just have to qualify though. ( which sucked though cause I was almost qualified but they wouldn't budge so my lunch was brought from home and sometimes I forgot it )

Yeah, that sucks that your parents made enough money that they could buy you food and you didn't qualify for a free lunch.
The thing was we could barely afford it. We have so many people in our home food doesn't go a long way ( and the rest would be spent for bills and clothes when we needed. Like if we grew or there were too many holes to be saved ), so it sucked that my siblings and I didn't qualify for it so we bad to pinch more pennies to get more food for lunches. And we barely made a little more than they would allow so that's why they wouldn't let us get free lunch.

I mean, I get it. I grew up in a home where three generations of family members lived and we scraped to get by. We barely didn't qualify for free lunches, too, but we still had more (even only a little) than the kids who did qualify and I'm thankful for that.
School lunches are A LOT better than prison food. On the packages of oatmeal (maybe other things too, I'm not sure.), it says not for human consumption, for prisoner consumption only. Plus, they only make a tiny amount of money a day, so they don't really have money to pay for lunches. I think the monthly income for them (depending on their job, the harder jobs make a little more money) is probably around $18 a month. And trust me, with their meals it's not like they are spoiled even if they get it free. They have ten minutes to eat their meal and then they're finished.
Some kids do get free lunch, although it's a qualification process. It probably costs almost the same at school as It would to have your kid pack their lunch and send them to school. (Unless you pack really cheap things.)
Ya....the EDUCATION is free, it never implied everything with it would be. That bus ride you are complaining about is a FREE ride to your FREE education. Up to college, I've never heard of a public school making you pay for your books (Perhaps a book you have to read you might buy, but only if you couldn't find it from the school or local library for FREE). That food you are complaining about, as has been stated, is also FREE if you qualify for it. If you want something better, bring your own lunch.
Until then, quit bitching that all the free shit you are given isn't up to your standards. If you want better, pay for it.
