It won't happen to anyone alive now. I avoid the whole green movement to motivate the next generation to fix the problem rather than just dragging out our demise with recycling and compost. I have faith that we can come up with a real solution.

Even if it won't affect us in our lifetime, don't you think we should start with what changes we can make now, rather than a potentially dramatic and maybe not as effective change later.
Also, we could leave the problems for future generations, but that attitude would probably be passed down as well, leaving it for the the final generation.
In reality no one cares. This doesn't affect people today in anyway. People don't care about the future or history they as a whole only care about the present and their current state in life. Future generations are in for a very long dreary existance.
If the reason for cutting down trees and fishing is profit than far from destroying the environment the pursuit of wealth will not destroy all the trees since it will provide an incentive to replenish them.
What do you mean? If theres no oxygen what do you think you'll be able to purify? Space? Without trees then earth will become as abandoned and desolate as space itself.
