Depends on where you get it. When people say there are certain areas where is more painful, yeah, they are not kidding. Sometimes, you barely feel it, other times it feels as if all the nerves/pain receptors in your body have gathered in a specific point...
I still self harm(please don't turn this into a conversation about why I shouldn't, I do what I want) so I'm kinda numb to certain pain. Would it feel worse than getting cut by something?
It's an annoying pain but extremely addicting all tattoos hurt id say joint are the worst to get tattooed. (Elbows knees ankles) sometimes scars hurt the worst because they have to go over an over it for it to take the ink at times. When their healing they feel like bad sun burns.
Certain areas of the feet, some areas of your wrists. I went with a friend once because she was getting one in her shoulder blades, according to her "it hurt like hell", sometimes it hurts more when the bone is closer to the skin (or that's what I was told by one or two tattoo artists). Feel worse? Well, depends what that "something" is; but if we are talking about minor cuts, the kind you only bleed for a bit and that's it, then I don't think so. Those on the face though, ouch. I mean it. Those who get the so called "permanent makeup" can testify to that, even when they get some local anesthesia for those.
(Why should we turn the conversation about why you shouldn't? If you want to get one, then do so (there is now the option of laser removal))
(I meant don't talk about the self harm stuff-don't talk me out of that) I want tattoos but I don't know where I want/what I want. I know I want a tiny paintbrush on my left index finger, and possibly a butterfly on my wrist, but they'd be small. And maybe a cross somewhere. And there's no way in hell I'd get one on my face. I do my own makeup
(I won't, I approach such topics more subtly. More or less, when I am in the mood. I can turn the conversation anywhere I want, but I am lazy, so I don't do that.)
Well, first question, do you want everybody else to see it? Or just for yourself? There is the other question whether or not you want it with colour or, well, not really. I liked your response to the permanent makeup one xD
Well, I want it somewhere that can be covered up easily for job purposes(so no sleeve tats. I'm good with foundation so the ones on my wrist I could just blotch out) and I want to kinda be able for it to be visible(no tramp stamps, none on my tits) maybe collarbone? A small one
You can either cover it with makeup, or do what a certain relative of mine does whenever she goes to a country tattoos are no exactly accepted: Cover it with some bandage (or one of those sports wristbands. Now that I think about it, she has some nice collection of rather big watches... I guess that might help too, somehow), granted, it's not that big, but it is located on her wrist, so... Have you ever thought of getting one in somewhere in the upper arm? Though, the collarbone sounds like a nice place for the butterflies one.
If you ever decide to finally get one, just make sure to search a nice place. Ask around to those who have one or two, they might help you find a nice parlour. Or someone with more input/experience
Okay I've always wondered why it's not acceptable to have tattoos to have a decent job. I get the part about there being a possibility that they might be gang related and that society frowns upon it bit the whole idea of not being able to have a tattoo both even a simple one is stupid. If you are a decent person with good morals and you are not hurting anyone why should it matter that you have a tattoo. I've had teachers who have tattoos and they never get in trouble. But some other job won't let you have a tattoo just for the sake of what the customer will think. Most customers say people with tattoos are bad but that is not true if anything they are the bad ones for being judgemental. I want to get a full sleeve of tattoos but I want to become a psychologist but I know I wont be easy if I have a full sleeve of tattoos.
I think the reason it's harder to get a decent job if you have a tattoo is because tattoos are correlated quite heavily with less-than-good backgrounds, lower IQs, and lower income, as well as crime. A company doesn't really want to hire employees who unconsciously give off these subliminal messages, although it's not really fair on those tattoos. Although I don't mind tattoos, a lot of people I know consider them lower-class, and I admit, I would not be so keen to be around you if you had one.

That's very unfortunate, you will miss out on knowing some amazing people based on something so superficial. Tattoos are an expression, not a definition.

Hey, I still have friends with tattoos, and some of my family members do. I hate the way they look, but while it is a bit of a turnoff, it certainly won't actually stop me from having someone as a friend :)
