Cows milk, asside from a few of the nutrients, is actually quite unhealthy for humans, infact over 50% of the world's population (over half for all the 50%wits out there) is lactose intolerant. But in western culture we're often raised on cow milk (not from birth, but from a young age) so lactose intolerance is much less common.
I was lactose intolerant when I was younger so my parents gave us soy milk while we were growing up but lately I've been drinking that milk that supposedly doesn't have lactose in it and haven't had any reactions. It's so good though and I can eat ice cream now so I guess it was a phase?
Lactose Intolerance isn't necesarily a permanent thing, it can easily be treated by ingesting a lot of milk, and usually develops if you don't drink much cows milk early on in your life. Lactose Intolerance is simply your stomach not being used to drinking something it can't properly process, there are only a few things our digestion system can process out of cows milk, calcium being one of them.
Women continue to produce milk as long as it is being drawn. Stop removing milk from the breasts, the milk production naturally stops.
And how is drinking a human woman's milk worse than drinking a cow's milk?
As a vegetarian myself, these drive me crazy. I have my own reasons and beliefs, but other people have their own reasons and beliefs as well, and other vegetarians and vegans should be respecting that. It's okay to say something about the benefits of a vegan or vegetarian diet, but chastising other people and making them feel guilty about something that is only natural is wrong.
Let's also not forget that there's burgeoning evidence that soy milk may not be that good for you anyway. Particularly for men because one of the proteins in soy is an estrogen precursor.
.
No direct evidence yet, mind you... just enough to warrant further studies.
Besides, soy milk isn't that good anyway... it's terrible in coffee too. Rice milk is alright and almond milk is incredible.
Agreed. Good to drink, nice in cereal and doesn't make your coffee taste like ass.
Still prefer creamer, but if that stuff is in the fridge... *me gusta*
Or worse, another woman's ?
