I would be more comfortable if it said "son and father"

I'm crying with happiness. Take care of him, he raised you so that you could achieve something greater in life. He sacrificed everything for you. What a wonderful dad and what a wonderful son.

Alright, who gave you permission to do this to me. It appears to me that I have come down with the super feels.

Or maybe the son is really an asshole who took everything from his father just to make a better life for himself. He went away to college to become smarter than the man who made him poor to start with and this picture is his way of gloating. Just an idea.
