I have a feeling that it was shopped to look "bad", then shopped again to make the edit look that more extreme.

Not defending Photoshop, but it is not fair to those women when there are far more extreme legitimate examples out there.
the "unphotoshopped" image is real, but the "photoshopped" image in this gif is not the actual one used in media, they would have done a much higher quality job.
Because teens see all these unrealistic women in magazines and they'll starve themselves, cover themselves in so much makeup and just abuse their body to try and look like something that was made in a computer program, not the already beautiful young people they are!
So that's why we care because its hurting so many teens who try and be 'perfect'
