Is this 'The Strain' based on the book series about Ephraim from the CDC?!
Those books were the nuts! I wonder if it'll be coming onto our version on Fox in England?

So there are definitely two valid sides here. On the one hand, children don't need to be exposed to frightening images out in public. They may adapt to it, but what about the consequences of growing up desensitized to violence? On the other hand, children are often more able to cope than we give them credit for. I think that they can manage with a responsive parent or caregiver there to help them understand. It also depends on the age and developmental stage of the child. Self-regulation is the skill which allows children to control impulses and recovery from stress, including upsetting images. Very young children completely rely on parents to calm them. Over time, they learn coping mechanisms. Ideally, these images would have a flap or something so viewers can choose to look or not. It could be marketed so that it's intriguing enough to look while still having a parental advisory warning.
These images are okay. Children usually don't mind this sort of thing, unless it's horribly gory and horrifying. If you're on the edge on whether it's okay for kids or not, ask a kid.
It's not that we're overprotecting children. The issue is that there is a picture of a freaking vampire leech drilling out of a woman's eye! Of coarse it's frightening for children
