Why is their even a femisist movement? What will it even accomplish? If you want the betterment for women then help out at the clinics for abused women, donate to charity, or help mothers through divorce and with their children. Quit sitting on your high horse belittling men the problem when everyone is to blaim including the feminists. Its easy af to sit behind a monitor and call others out without doing anything yourself.

Um. Feminists DO help abused women in clinics. You ask what will the feminist movement accomplish: hopefully equality! As I've said again and again, it's not about belittling men. How was the post even belittling men in the first place?

Misandrists have practically taken over the feminist movement especially on the internet. Equality is such a BS thing. The idea has only come to be because of the individualist ideology we share today in the US. I want to be my own person and be me but treated like the person next to me. I don't want to be looked at different but its okay to be different. Sounds like an oxymoron to me.

Which misandrists have taken over? Honestly, the only misandry I see is from trolls trying to derail the movement. Everyone knows the stereotype, but nobody is ever specific. As for equality, well the goal that makes more sense now is equity. Sometimes we need to boost up marginalized groups so that they have a fair chance. Your point about individualism is interesting. It certainly does seem plausible that the more we value it, the more individual differences are also valued.

Thank you rice pudding! so many people automatically think about the crazy feminist meme and how some women think they are superior, however when I think of feminism, I think about helping girls in countries where they can't even go to school, where they aren't allowed to drive, where they fear for their life everyday because of rape and sex slavery. So many people just think of first world countries and how "if women wants equality don't except men to pay for dinner" and that sort of thing. I'm not saying those points aren't valid, I just think there is a much more important side to feminism, and that side is trying to gain freedom and equality for women of the world because in so many places they live horrible lives. In first world countries like America, men hear feminism and think oh it's just some whiney hypocritical girl, but when I hear the word feminism, I think of helping some girl in the Democratic Republic of Congo get an education. That's what feminism is to me.

Okay please do that, the one thing is you want to and do do that stuff but you get the people who are "feminists" just for the word and do nothing to benefit other women. They just sit behind a monitor and tell others how things are and other things along that line.

Except this so called "feminist" movement does not do that. The movement like most "movement for equality" is just disguised this way to gain more power. Most movement don't even have their goals for equality. It's all about power, just ask anyone that's involved in any kind of politics.

But there are people that make lives better! I had to write a speech about a woman who launched V day and was setting up places of safety and even schools in Democratic Republic of Congo, helping rape victims and girls that had nowhere to go. Feminists are making life better, but all most people see are girls on facebook who are "feminists" and make stupid comments giving the word feminism a bad reputation. But I guess that's just the optimist in me that chooses to see all the good that is being done in the world thanks to feminism. And you don't have to do something huge to be a feminist for example, helping a little girl see that she is beautiful as long as she is happy and healthy, teaching her to embrace herself and to feel proud, not superior for being a girl.
