Well, pythons aren't native to Australia at all, so it was illegal to release it in the first place. Much better it is out of the wild

Carpet Pythons are native and It's illegal to take any wildlife from the wild in Australia, if the several breeds of python in Australia was taken away the amount of small rodents like rats and mice that eat out food crops would greatly increase and cause harm to our agricultural community. We need snakes and pythons in Australia.

Ooh, I stand corrected. Most pythons I see out on farms I work at are introduced though, but you're correct. Any natives we let be and relocate away from our houses but generally they're a sign that everything's healthy.

Sorry but I'm very passionate about reptiles, my school has an entire room full of them. It used to be the largest in Australia but recently there was a fire and we lost many of them. I'm always happy to hear someone say they look after our animals like that. Faith in humanity restored :)
