This is what colorblind means. It's the most common form of colorblindness and it's called a red-green deficiency, there are 2 types: Deuteranopia and protanopia, which cause red and green to look yellow, same as a dog
There are other types of colorblindness as well, including monochromacy, which has less recorded cases than any other form of colorblindness.
Note that monochromacy is the only form that causes vision in black and white.
During several wars, most notably WWII, persons who were color blind were highly sought after as observers for reconnaissance flights/missions.
This is because camouflage (paint, fake foliage) looks very different to the colorblind and sticks out like a sore thumb.
A few "secret" runways were discovered like this.
