Slaughterhouse 5 is about a man who is bounced around in time, experiencing different parts of his very unusual life. It takes you through war, a mental institutionalization, marriage, family life, abduction and probably more that I'm not remembering. The book follows the majority of his life, up to his death, and is presented as the main character (Billy) actually experiencing the events as opposed to having flashbacks. I've read it a few times and love it every time.
Welcome! I definitely didn't do it justice, but that's the gist of it. I don't know if you've read much Vonnegut, but for me he's definitely one of those authors where I have to read each book at least a second time to fully appreciate him. Slaughterhouse 5 can be sort of disorienting because of the way it's written but it's worth it!
Where can I find this?
