Well, yeah! Freedom isn't "free". Complete freedom would infringe on other people's freedom.

I'm very confused about what you're referring to here. Are you referring to laws? The only things within society keeping you safe from other people. Are you referring to the police? The very people attempting to keep the peace and protect the innocent. I don't understand what more you could want from your government on freedom.
We have one of the largest incarceration rates in the entire world. Let's start with that one.

Philosophy: the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline. Philosophy is full of many branches and I tend to focus on existence and reality. I see two sides to every argument and I can argue on both.
@nerdyheart, We have the largest incarceration rate in the world yes. But why? Look into it more. Drug use and the possession of illegal substances are the number one reason for imprisonment in the US. Drunk and disorderly conduct is also up there. I'm all for a good time but why can't people do things legally. In my highschool alone (700 students) about 200-250 of the student body drinks alcohol and/or smokes marijuana on a regular basis. Why? Boredom. We have everything we could possibly need and with the lack of need is what leads people to seek something to do. Humans mentally weren't meant to live without need. Children throughout the rest of the world that don't belong to an industrialized nation are in constant need. You will never hear of an impoverished African child addicted to alcohol or any other drug. Why? They have a need to survive. Children who grow up around alcohol/drug use are more likely to do illegal substances as adults which introduces it to future children.
Drugs which your country spends millions of dollars 'fighting' only to be the biggest buyer of Peruvian cocaine. What about all the false freedom it inflicts on other countries, the invasions and the blatant raping of third world country land for natural resources. If you think you are free inside the US, you are mistaken. Everything you do is watched and monitored and you are in the midst of a police militarisation. You have a high incarceration rate because your government think that a young black man who is desperate, sells drugs and gets caught should spend the rest of his life in jail, while a white police officer can murder someone and never be made accountable.
Its relevant because if you don't live in the US how do you know how we live? You don't. I can gurantee that many nations are stricter on drugs than the US. In Vietnam if you're caught bringing drugs into the country you are sent to federal prison without trial and/or warning. Maybe you'd like to have an example closer to home: New Zealand, if you bring outside fruits to the island you can be detained and possibly arrested for fruit.
You are talking about a systematic spying on an entire nation plus american enemies and allies.

I'm refering to the drug thing you brought up originally. Also, don't think that other countries aren't doing that. Lastly, if you aren't doing anything wrong then why do you feel threatened by it? You post everything on FS, FB, and Twitter as is so whats the real diffrence?
The American government is the biggest buyer of drugs, that's a fact.

The only time the US did anything toward any drugs was when the US supported the Contras during the Cold War. Contras were against Communism in South America. I want to see your sources where you think your info is coming from.
Yeah no kidding. All of the women payed $0.79 on the dollar because they're "less capable", and the gays that can't marry because people are paraphrasing a few lines of the old testament.

Yeah,no. Women on average are pay less because many of them choose lower-paying jobs and careers. They sometimes have children and/or opt to work part-time. Also, gays are already allow to marry so, your statement of gays can't get marry is false. Maybe in some place they can't but, overall they can.
What did I just say? I said in SOME places they can't not marry. Also, don't think not being allowed to get marry is the wost thing in the world. There are other things to worry about oh like getting execute for being gay in some parts of the world.
Nande12 is saying that at least gays can be together openly in the US, whereas other places they would be killed in the open and everybody would think it'd be for the better. Yes marriage has its benefits, but I'm sure gays would much rather want to be together and not married than not be together at all.
