hmm ok consider this. the issue is not about shifting blame its about understanding potential consequences of your actions and whether you are willing to accept those or not. a potential consequence of taking a nude photo is that i could get out. whether its from a hacker or you just drop your phone somewhere the end result is the same. Our actions have consequences, that's all i'm saying. Also, someone could walk up and kick me in the nuts but they now have to be willing to accept the consequences of that.
I was speaking wrt to the point being made in the comic. I understand that the pictures being leaked is a gross violation and i sympathize. however, expecting the worst is what keeps us safe. you say we shouldn't live like that but i'm sure you lock your doors at night.
that would be the ideal situation, but do you think that you could handle that? i read somewhere that we (humans) couldn't handle that. that we need some level of chaos in our lives in order to function, and when there is none, we create it for ourselves. (or maybe it was some old movie idk)
I love you guys, you just had the calmest argument i have ever seen on the internet. keep going hehehe.
by the way i agree with both of you, releasing the pictures was rude and wrong but
they should not have taken them in the first place.
"but they should not have taken them in the first place."
I disagree, while people should be wary of their privacy being violated, that doesn't mean that they shouldn't take pictures if that's what they want.
I understand what you mean. My mistake was, that taking pictures is okay, it's just the fact that they put them in a place where someone could get access to them and release them to a world. I.e, online, emailed, texted, etc. It can easily spread, it's better not to.
I agree with you on that point. I just wish people were free to express themselves in their relationships, without worrying about this type of situation. Unfortunately, privacy is quite rare when it comes to technology.
This has been a pleasant debate, doesn't happen too often. Thanks guys! =)
The way I see it is, this has happened to celebrities over and over, and every single time they get blamed for it. Then it happens to jennifer lawrence and all of a sudden she becomes the victim coz everyone's busy sucking her ass
Let's be honest here mate, we all know this comic strip was made after the lawrence scandal alright we're not playing dumb. And these celebrities weren't considered as the victims until it happened to her. No one felt sympathy for venessa hudgens or Scarlett johansen when it happened to them
Have you seen that smosh video about that stuff, the point is, dont do it or your "trusted" boyfriend or girlfriend could release them, in this case hacked.
i really think that if you don't want to have your image leaked onto the internet, then dont take any at all. im not saying 'just don't take pictures' but if you are not comfortable with a certain image being on the internet, then don't take those pictures. isn't it better to unload the gun than to shoot the bullet proof vest.
even still, both parties are at fault here,
it is a horrible thing to do, leak pictures of other people that don't want their pictures in public (not to mention illegal) and it is totally wrong, why is it that celebrities personal lives are ours too? they should have the freedom to take pictures like that and not live in fear of someone finding them and then the whole world knowing about it. it is disgusting how much we live off of the lives of famous people, like OH MY GOD HARRY STYLES WENT TO THE PARK TODAY. OH MY GOD TAYLOR SWIFT WAS WEARING A BLACK BRA TODAY. OH MY GOD HERE ARE SOME MORE IMAGES OF SOME FAMOUS PERSONS BABY. (to be continued)
OH MY GOD BRAD PITT WAS IN THE CEREAL ISLE AT THE SUPERMARKET TODAY.
they are people too. they need to eat, they need to go shopping, they can have fun just as much as us but everyone is ruining it by making a HUGE story out of the simple daily life of celebrities. how would you like it if there was constantly someone outside your house watching your every move. people think celebrities can do what they want and get away with it. in some cases that is true. but really, they are much more trapped than you are, by the media, by their managers or whatever.
but thats just what i think. sorry for the rant.
whatever your opinion is, thats cool. this is mine. deal with it.

The real stupidity is storing those photos on a server that does not belong to you.
