I have two main problems with this post:
a)Throwing the word rape around is extremely offensive. Check out the following link for some good reasons as to why this is.

b)You're actually completely wrong when you say that you think that we're all being "raped by trees" as rape is basically forced sexual intercourse or sexual intercourse without consent. Since we don't actually have forced sexual intercourse with trees this makes what you're convinced of completely wrong.
I might have once agreed with both your points, however...FUNsubstance. FUN. There are topics that bring up uncomfortable memories in some people, but does that mean we should stop joking about them? According to this logic, we shouldn't be able to joke about anything, because someone out there might feel offended by it. Yes, rape is a horrible thing and should not be just joked about on a daily basis, but I can hardly imagine a victim having a nervous breakdown because we used the word in connection with pollen and trees.
(Trust me, I was a victim of harrassment, even though it fortunately didn't go beyond sleazy thigh touching, and this bad memory would have never resurfaced if you didn't bring it up. Neither pollen, nor trees, nor the two words being connected by the word "rape". It was you who brought it up. Thanks a lot, by the way.)
It goes great with my oatmeal.
