The proper term is "hemophilia", meaning your blood doesn't clot. Ever have a bloody nose? It stops because a sufficient amount of blood has dried (clotted, coagulated) in order to stop the continuous flowing of blood. Like taping two pieces of wire together, or repairing a leak in a garden hose. This snake's venom prevents the blood from clotting and you bleed to death, like having an open wound, except that every pore and orifice, is an open wound.

I remember once as we took a walk in Kruger National Park(in Africa, we lived there for a while, then moved back to Italy, because we are ItalianxScottish) and this huge boomslang fell from a tree right in infront of us. They are called Boomslang, which means "Tree Snake" in Afrikaans
