I honestly like sad endings better than the happy, perfect fairy-tale ones. Sad endings are more realistic as they teach you that nothing comes without a price and that everything you do has consequences, they wake up deeper emotions in you and make you feel more human, at least that's how I feel about it. Happy endings are fine too, but the bigger the sacrifice to get to the ending, the happier and better. I'm really not into the deus ex machina kind of thing.
