I think you should do it because YOU want to and it makes you feel good. Don't do it for anyone else or you won't enjoy it. That's what I do for myself.
there seem to be a lot of boyfriends who lack the communication skills to discuss how they feel with the girlfriends* There's a fine line between vanity and being worried about the health of your significant other.
Since health parameters decrease even before fat levels become visible, you can guarantee that anyone who is fat enough that it can be seen will already be unhealthy in some way (e.g. insulin resistant, increased LDL levels, heart arrythmias), and therefore there is no line between vanity and health (until you reach a certain body fat percentage (roughly 8% for men and say 18% for women)). Exercise will benefit everybody who does it, full stop. I'm slightly worried that some women think that they shouldn't exercise just because their other half wants them too, that's childish. As a happy coincidence you will also start to look better if you exercise regularly
man Ive been doing this to my husband for almost 3 yrs and he still hasnt got the point! !! and ladies workout with your boyfriends. its fun and yall will be bonding. plus its good for your health.
you can't truly love someone if you want to change them...at least that's some metaphorical shit Shakspeare implied.

A good way to get someone to exercise is to say you don't feel comfortable working out alone and need someone to be your "exercise buddy". I did this to my sister and it got her moving.
honestly maybe she has something that she is stressed about that is making her eat more...get to the root of the problem and the weight situation could correct itself. if not I agree with just talking to her and saying that you want her to be healthy so does she need you to help...workout together, plan healthy meals, etc
