Everything we complain about in our society is our own fault, we're the ones failing to do something to change it.

The average American citizen has become docile and indifferent. The power of the people in any nation, by far outweighs the power of the government.

My ex-cop teacher said they when they point a gun, they aim to kill-- not to injure or disarm.

They actually face criminal and civil charges if they intentionally aim to injure. Gotta love lawyers.

Ok, maybe the post "forgot" to tell that cops in the US are trained that way, but still, what was the better solution in these cases? You tell me.

Well, police officers in Germany do not carry tasers, but i have read so many stories in recent time that realy made me believe that American cops don't need to be taught to shoot to kill, but rather to make decisions. Americans often claim that cops have to shoot a "dangerous" person, but often they really wouldn't.

Here in India the cops are only allowed to shoot in rarest of rare cases. They are only allowed to use lathi(a stick) in cases like these. They only shoot when the criminal is carrying a firearm.

I'm glad the threat was neutralized, no matter how extreme the measures taken.

Alternatively, don't threaten people with a knife of any size.
