It's in Vashon Island, Washington he never came home and the family left the bike there as a memorial to the fallen soldier... But sadly it's a internet fake that's been doing the rounds for many years! The bicycle was in fact left behind in the mid-1950s by a local resident who simply abandoned it. Interestingly, “the tree that ate a bicycle” on Washington’s Vashon Island has even inspired a Berkeley Breadthed’s 1994 book, Red Ranger Came Calling.

Plus the person didn't just leave it leaning against the tree, it would've had to be put up in the branches to be that high up.
