What's really sad is when you see pictures of the children and it looks like they have a full belly, it's really just parasites that cause swelling of organs. :/

It's fluid build-up from protein malnutrition, not parasites.

It is very much parasites. Im not saying it isn't a lack of protein, it could be a combination, but I'll be damned if I didn't learn of more than a few parasites that cause inflammation of the digestive tract in all of my biology classes.

A myriad of parasites can cause swelling, but the typical distended stomachs seem in images and video of poverty-stricken African children *are* caused by protein malnutrition (specifically called kwashiorkor).

And many of the parasites that cause the swelling? Also cause malnutrition. Of course MANY other factors contribute to their malnutrition, but parasites are so prevalent and easy to contract that to say fluid build-up is the cause and not parasites is a fallacy.

Do you mean the movie? Or white girls in general? Because a lot of white girls I know are actually very smart so I don't think it's fair to group them all together and stereotype them like that

No, reginageorge is, I believe, saying that the post makes them seem like that and that the post is the one stereotyping.

I meant real white girls, not the movie

@reginageorge, as a very broad-minded white girl... I'm offering a piece of advice: back off slowly. The more you write, the worse your situation here gets, y'know. :P
