Just a random question from a European.
Considering that the american legal system is fucked up and prone to abuses, would somebody who hit the dog / kid and end up sued (therefore needing a lawyer) be able to press charges for false advertisment or even get the charges dropped because of this?
(Serious question, I really want to know :) )
False advertisement only really applies to selling a good or service. The person would still be able to sue, but they would have a hard time finding a lawyer that is willing to justify something so silly
I don't think they would be capable of sueing anyone for false advertisement in this situation. If they struck a dog or a child with their car they could then be sued. If however someone actually shot a person or a person's car for hitting their dog or child that person would actually go to jail and could be sued.
It is not a police sign. It is a sign put up by a frustrated homeowner who has vowed to garrote any sob that destroys his family through willful disregard of the speed limit.
