You say rich people haven't tried to help the starving? Organizations such as UNICEF, Salvation Army and other charities have been supported by rich people to get food and other supplies to the unfortunate. Bill Gates is one who gives millions to those organizations. Rich people have to pay for larger bills than poor people do, so stop being greedy.
Did you realize that not many rich people can AFFORD to help? It sounds stupid, I know, but as stated above they have bigger bills. Higher land taxes, maintenance for their companies and homes. And for the rich people who can afford to donate, such as Gates and Zuckerberg, give generously. Zuckerberg helped out Ebola research will 25million dollars (I think it was 25, might be wrong, But it was a large amount,)
When I was doing relief work, all the aid had to be "greased through" customs with bribes. Then, we had to bribe govt officials and local politicians to get the clothing/food/meds to the local distribution sites. Some food went bad because it took too long to get all that done.
Others I knew found that their aid supplies were seized by the govt, and distributed to the people they favored, not the people intended. So, the tribe in power makes sure a rival tribe doesn't get helped.
