There's a reason for everything here! Can't drink because of tweens. Can't marry your gender because some people might be grossed out. Can't bring your dog into a restaurant unless you're disabled because Germany is more free than us in that regard.
O and plants are illegal until we can tax and monitor them. (P.s. yes I smoke and no I wish it'd never be legal)
the drinking age has to do with physical brain development, your brain doesn't stop growing until you're 21.

Almost all other western nations have lower legal ages for alcohol consumption but do not have greater rates of mental illness, disabilities or other neurological disorders, and maintain equal (and sometimes higher) average IQ's.
So? Alcohol is not good for you at any age. Why make fun of us for trying to push it back at least a little for those people who are law abiding? Even if all of that's true, the fact that the brain is still developing at 18 is also true, and more important of a fact.
1. The fact that the brain is still developing is irrelevant, alcohol still does not affect that over the age of 18.
2. Alcohol actually is good for you. People who drink alcohol on a regular basis live longer than those who don't, even relatively heavy drinkers live longer than those who don't. The only point at which alcohol becomes detrimental to a person's lifespan is when they drink at substance abuse levels, regularly subjecting themselves to alcohol poisoning.
3. I've not made fun of anyone in this thread. I don't know where you got that idea.
4. Restricting another person's rights should only ever be done with a VERY good reason, and no reason that stands up to scrutiny has been given.
Honestly, what the fuck are you on that your condoning alcohol usage? Alcohol contains ethanol, a DRUG and since when are drugs good for you? Especially at an increased intake? Do you even know how many deaths alcohol is responsible for annually? I fail to see how people who drink regularly a lot live longer than someone who works out and eats healthy every day. And let's say what you're saying is true, but your own body is trying to get rid of it by throwing up, it's taken as a poison, and all your body does is try to keep you alive! The fact that your brain is still developing is not irrelevant, alcohol and other drugs shape your brain, particularly by deteriorating it. I'm talking about the post making fun of us. Alcohol is bad for you, there's a reason there's a limit and an age you can have it at.
"Honestly, what the fuck are you on that your condoning alcohol usage? Alcohol contains ethanol, a DRUG and since when are drugs good for you?"
Consumption of ethanol and caffeine have both been demonstrated to increase a person's lifespan. Both of these are 'drugs', if you can't get past that word then don't even bother replying.
"Do you even know how many deaths alcohol is responsible for annually?"
Yes, misuse of alcohol can kill, but people also drown, should swimming be banned?
"I fail to see how people who drink regularly a lot live longer than someone who works out and eats healthy every day."
That's not what I said; people who drink alcohol regularly live longer than those who do not, this is a simple fact. http://www.digitaljournal.com/life/health/a-sobering-truth-drinkers-live-longer-than-non-drinkers/article/363956
"And let's say what you're saying is true,"
It is, see above.

"but your own body is trying to get rid of it by throwing up, it's taken as a poison, and all your body does is try to keep you alive!"
Did you bother reading the whole sentence? If you had you would have seen where I explicitly addressed this.
"The fact that your brain is still developing is not irrelevant, alcohol and other drugs shape your brain, particularly by deteriorating it."
Prove it then. No such mechanism ahs been demonstrated except in cases of chronic misuse, which is a matter I have already addressed.
"I'm talking about the post making fun of us."
Then you should have specified that when you replied to me, otherwise it looks like the comment is directed at me. Also ridiculous laws deserve to be made fun of.
"Alcohol is bad for you, there's a reason there's a limit and an age you can have it at."
No, the evidence says alcohol is good for you. Too much alcohol is bad you for, but so is too much water, or too much oxygen, or too much celery...

'too much' is precisely that amount which is detrimentally excessive. Having an age limit does make sense, but all the available evidence demonstrates the USA's to be arbitrarily high.
At 18, You can die for your country, and you are allowed to vote to help decides who leads this country. You can get married, legally adopt, buy property, and are almost guaranteed to be paying taxes. You are allowed to drive, you will be tried as an adult in every legal case, but no, you are not allowed to buy alchohol.
It's not because you aren't old enough to make that desicion, it's because you're brain is fully developed at 18 so you're brain could get screwed up from drinking alcohol
I didn't notice. I see a lot of misspellings on the Internet. This guest just out of nowhere started acting like a jerk. All he said was that the creator spelled something wrong. IE:
Guy 1: isn't that car so cool
Guy 2: yep.
Guy 1: I wonder what type it is.
Guy 2: I already know. *walks away*
