Some birds, reptiles, and mammals also have this third eyelid. Heck, we used to have one too, but it doesn't work anymore.

Many amphibic creatures use it underwater and it basically has a use as goggles.

No it's the eyelid that comes over the cats eye when they are sick. I think. Don't quote me on that. *waits for someone to correct her or go, "actually......."*
