Can I say I don't understand pet shaming. Pets can't understand English (or whatever human language it is happening in) so it's pointless because it doesn't cause them to learn their lessons like if you did this with a human. It used to be cute but I've seen it so many times now that frankly it's annoying... but those are just my thoughts....
It isn't meant to teach the pet a lesson at all, it's just supposed to be a funny way of sharing your pet's antics with the world for a laugh. And you shouldn't do this with human children just fyi. And as for the not understanding English part you'd be surprised how much they can understand. My old hen understands her name, "no", "drop it", "Go outside", "shut up", "sit", "go away", and "come here" which compared to people isn't much but more than you would expect from an animal often seen as dumb. My lab can understand full sentences, or at least the jist of it. And there was this one dog that had like a 2,000 word vocabulary or something like that.
I get that it`s supposed to be cute and funny but I've seen these so many times that its worn itself out... (to me its sort of like the facebook pictures of kids asking for likes so they can go to Disney world). I do believe that a lot of animals (including dogs) are smarter than we give them credit for but I don't think dogs can read (whether its because no-one taught them or because it's not in their nature is irrelevant). And there is a big difference between having a vocabulary and understanding all of those words.
Superchicken, I will have to correct you on one point. Your hen knows "no", " shut up", and "go away"? You said that " isn't much" compared to humans, but how many humans know those words nowadays? I'm going to have to ask you to train my brother for me. You can keep him if you like him!
SOME OF THESE SCARE ME.~
