Little know fact: When the KKK was made, it was before the LBJ, and before the civil rights act. During the time before hand, the democrats were (at the time) the conservative party, and republicans were liberals. While this was starting to change already, the parties switched almost entirely when the voting rights act passed, and the racist democrates in the south (the Dixie-crats as otherwise known) became republicans, not wanting to associate with LBJ, while republicans, not wanting to associate themselves with said racist people, went into the newly liberal democratic party. The parties switched you dingus.
