Most of us on here won't know this but a huge portion of violent crime done by teens before video game and rock and roll was attributed to the book "Rage". The book portrayed a teenage boy who killed his teacher. (I don't want to spoil anymore.) This book was the leading cause of controversy. The came rock and roll, then came metal, then came video games. Blaming the bad of society on something is the wrong way to go about it.

I guess because rock doesn't fit into society's definition of "perfect" or "normal". People tend to make anything different a scapegoat for any problems they want to absolve themselves from. I got into trouble for letting a 5 year old listen to Fall Out Boy, yet this same child knew the lyrics to Anaconda. What would you say is more detrimental?

Neither until he grows to choose his own music style and tendencies. At his age he won't understand either song therefore neither holds weight. My father listens to country music while I listen to metal. Growing up I listened to country and one line always struck me. "Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down." Now at my age at the time I didn't understand it so I thought the singer was stupid therefore it carried no weight. As a child the sound of music and tone of voice are what matters. Not the lyrical content.

Don't people know that video games release stress and buil up rage, like murdurous rage, when playing video games, this is why you don't interrupt when someone is playing video games because you have disrupted them releasing stress, thus causing more stress. Has society become to ignorant to realize this or just don't care. Also props to Shigeru Miyamoto.
