Some rabid Black Friday shoppers need to remember that. The point of stores putting items on sale is to trick you into buying something you wouldn't otherwise buy by making you think your saving money.
Meh, the past couple years I kinda wanted to upgrade to a new TV, this year I finally, intentionally, waited to take advantage of the sales. I spent $1,300 instead of $1,700. Yay, me! We finally get to watch our 3D blurays. :D
On a somewhat related note, I'm giving the "old" tv to my parents, who still have a tube tv. It's part early Christmas gift, part me not being the kind of guy who wants a tv in the bedroom.

Yup, go ahead, I actually waited a few days for the Black Friday sales to buy a few t shirts half off cuz I had already picked them out and ordered them during the sale
If your old tv is completely broke and you decided to spend 2000 dollars on a new tv. You are going to spend that money anyways, but you see a tv that is 250 cheaper than the one you was going to buy, you do save. As long as you are planing to spend the money, you save. If you are buying on a want not a need you are spending not saving.
I was planning on buying clothes anyway. Taking advantage of the deals that were up to 75% off, and these were things like polo's which are usually 80 dollars, I don't know who in their right mind would pass that up.
