How did it die?

Damnit, I had a happy grin for the first few picture until....

Nooooooo... Man I really liked this and then ... *cries and hugs my dog who is looking at me like I am having a mental breakdown*

I was really confused because I thought he was served as a meal at the end

Can't remember how he died but the croc was shot in the head (eye?) by a hunter in its younger years leaving it with permanent brain damage, the man in the pictures had been caring for him for almost 20 years I believe. Mind you that's all from memory, can't be 100% sure of accuracy
