I mean the second quote kind of makes sense though. Obviously there will be moments of pure happiness in life, and you are entitled to those. However, people having it better than you can cause you to be unhappy with yourself and therefore MOTIVATED to improve your condition and fix your problems.
It's not that your problems aren't valid. It's just something people say when they're sick of your melodrama and/or suicide "threats", especially considering a significant chunk of the world has it worse and are struggling to improve or give their children a better life rather than just giving up.
Depends on what your problem is. If you're making a huge deal about something stupid then yeah it kinda does because people are dying slow agonizing deaths from starvation while you bitch about not being able to get a chic fil a sandwich on Sunday. If you broke your leg or a pet dies those are not problems that can be diffused by saying that kids in Africa have it worse.
I don't believe people dying from lack of food is a widespread phenomenon. Different countries have grown economically over the past decade. African countries differ extensively based on their economic status and their welfare policies. Of course except for those countries having insurgent groups
Right that's the point. If someone says someone has it worse they're not invalidating your problems they're just saying to be grateful for what you DO have
"You can't leave that tiny bit of food on your plate. think of the children in Africa." do you want me to send it by fucking jet plane to them?! It's no more good to them in my stomach than it is in a bin!
I agree. You are being downvoted when u basically said same thing as above comment. Like said before, I believe is valid to say it if you are complaining for simple stuff and sometimes seeing the brighter side helps. However, sometimes, yeah I have a problem and I know I could have it worse but I want to cry/ be mad at a certain moment I think I should/can. I need to vent
GOD BLESS THIS POST
