I'm guessing the person in charge of that country is a male. I'd like to see him, and every other male in that country reverse rolls with the females. I'd like to see how they would handle it, and how quickly they would want to change those laws to make it equal.
Actually, there are groups thinking about heading to Saudi Arabia and trying to improve conditions there or get women out. That really does need to be changed.
And NO ONE, I mean LITERALLY, 100% NO ONE, tries to protest for smiling at people. Unless, of course, by "smile" you mean "shout inappropriate and obnoxious things at women who don't want it".
I'm an arab
*not saudian,god forbid*
and I'm just sitting here thinking if my mom ever stepped foot in saud arabia she would be beheaded bc she's had her driver liscence before she married dad,and before my dad himself had a liscence ..
shit
This is so wrong I lived there (I'm a girl) and this is so wrong, there is only one right information in the whole post, women are not allowed to drive but the rape and public apearance thing and males possessing females is wrong
This shows how people try to manipulate all information to make you think whatever they say is true, but they are all lies.Uninformed "sheep" will believe anything they hear.
Thank you other guest, I've seen documentarys about female fashion in Dubai (via Vice news, naturally) and they are actually quite chill with females. (Most didn't have to cover their face, most had respectable and high up jobs, like laywers and doctors, and I read this post and it seemed the total opposite of what I had seen about the UAE)
Anyone who claims this is untrue is incorrect. I'm Muslim and I strongly admonish Saudi's grotesque actions as they commit most of the accused. However a few mistakes are made:
1. Rape victims are/aren't punished based on the context. If the jury feels as though the raped "asked" for it by wearing attractive clothing, (however narrow-minded this thinking is), the woman is sentenced to stoning or being lashed.
2. In court, a woman is worth 1/2 a man. This means that for any testimony a woman makes, she needs another woman to make the same statement or another man to validate it. However, four men do not need to claim to know her.
3. Instead of being burnt for wearing ill-suited clothing, most children are reprimanded. Children mind you need not cover under Saudi law until they reach puberty. In any case, the gov actually tries to avoid burning the kids.
But in any case, Saudi is crazy and someone needs to stop the ongoing abuse.
