They're probably referring to their life in general. Like, theirs is the only birthday in the group of people they have to celebrate with who is in this situation every year.

I thought it was obvious as well, but not everyone thinks the same way, so I see no problem in helping others understand.

Exactly, thumb that up/down and move on or write another comment like "obviously not" not another speech that I see everyday bout us not liking same thing. We've all been through this including myself.

I was born on December 31st too, I'm from Colombia and in my city un December theres a huge party so I celebrate muy birthday until Jaunary 1st at 8-9 am when I go to bed
