Nigger comes from the white term "nigro", which comes from negro, which is Spanish for black. It does not mean whatever the fuck you said. It was used as a racist term said from whites to African-American.
"Fag" is used also as an insult, but it shouldn't be. The word "fag", or faggot, means 1) a gay homosexual, or, 2) a bundle of sticks. Whoever made faggot an insult is horribly wrong, just like you were. Although you are right about Justin bieber, do not use the word "fag". Instead, use something else.

What you said is correct. That is the HISTORICAL context. However, most of the modern context that I use (and have heard) is what I explained it as.

Well, sir, MODERN context gives bad influences on the human brain. Bad people have turned those words into insults. These are also seen on popular social websites (i.e. Tumblr). So don't let bad people influence you to say bad things.

Anyhow, I accept the fact that the words are bad NOW. I'm actually going through a unit on censorship in my english class and one of my biggest arguments for not censoring is the historical context. Regarding someone's comment on Mark Twain niggering, I'm reading Huck Finn for class. HF was written in the language of the common person, so they wouldn't say 'black person', 'negro', 'african american', or 'black servant'. They'd say 'nigger' because it saves on a syllable, like how 'injun' saves a syllable on 'indian'. It's really just how fast you want to say things, which in those days (and now), the common person wants to talk as much in a given amount of time, thus cutting words if possible. Another thing: slavers didn't make 'nigger' a bad word. Actually, a better way of putting that is that slavers didn't make the WORD 'nigger' a bad thing. They made the CONTEXT a bad thing. I have at least three black friends and I refer to them as

my nigga friends. They refer to themselves as niggas. OTHER people refer to them as niggas. I'm a Chinese. I refer to myself as a yerrow cowcuraytur in da hoomin bwain (a yellow calculator in a human brain) and other such, what would in other contexts be racist beyond belief, racist ways (forgive my bad usage of commas and grammar and whatnot). I make fun of myself, my religion, and everything about anything: Jews, protestants, Catholics, muslims, buddhists, white people, blacks, yellow, red, anything goes as far as I'm concerned. Words only hold as much power as you let them. I LIKE and ENCOURAGE people to call me racially derogatory things because it's FUNNY. I'm forgetting what I'm arguing so I'm going to let you have another stab at me so that I can get bcak on track.

I am not preaching, I'm stating. I am an African American and I find it offensive that people are still saying "nigger" or "nigga". I don't care whether you like to be called racist things are racist to yourself, your friends, your religion, etc.. I know that slavers made the context bad, which is what I've been trying to say. I don't like that you make fun of other religions or races. It is cruel humor that has no point. Please stop, don't reply, and have a good day/night (depending on what time zone you live in).
