I think it means, because people think he is intelligent, they believe that he always knows exactly what's happening. He's asking them to stop thinking that, because sometimes even smart people need an explanation.
If people could stop assuming that intelligence = knowledge, that'd be great. Maybe I'm smart but never read a book another person did. Does that make them so much better? Because a lot of people think it does. Once a dude called me stupid because I never read 50 shades of grey. I really wanted to repeatedly high five his face with a chair. Like, dude! While you were reading that, I was reading Cloud Atlas! Now who's unsophisticated?
Why would he called you stupid, 50 shades is basically just written porn, you can get more knowledge watching it on everybodyknowwhere.. he's the stupid one. *pats your back*
So I'm a Swiss girl, studying English Literature as a major. And one of my friends keeps asking me what English words mean in German and if I don't know it he's like: "But you're studying English".. Yeah I am, but that doesn't automatically make me know every single fricking English word there is. If you could stop assuming that.. that would be great.
