Frankly, I'm glad it's over. I wish they'd stick to the book.

*clears throat* Actually, the content in the Hobbt trilogy movies was based off of J.R.R. Tolkien's original manuscript for the book. Peter Jackson simply took some elements - okay, a lot of elements - that didn't make the cut, and accentuated them. So, while you are technically correct in saying that they varied from the book, what matters here is that nothing was made up. Tolkien wrote about all of it.
Fade from the sky
On the wind I heard a sigh
As the snowflakes cover
I will say, this last goodbye
So ends this day
and I must away
And under tree
Beneath the stars
I cannot tell
But now comes the day
Many sorrows I have seen
Nor will I forget
So ends this day
And I must away
And under trees
that run down to the sea
With your blessing I will go
and thought where the road then takes me
We came all this way
I bid you farewell
A very fond...
Farewell...
