In nature, people died young of horrible diseases and we spent all our time fighting for our next meal. Reason sets us apart from the other animals, it's reason that has allowed us to improve the standard of living and it's reason that allows us to undermine this idea - if that's what we choose.

I wish people would bother to engage in discussion if they're going to post something cerebral here, rather than just thumbing up or down. What's the point of posting this if not to open people up to talk about it?

Forced "equality" is in itself inequality.

Yeah the whole notion is artificial, like dignity and justice and freedom. But the point I take from this is that we should just accept that it's dog eat dog out there, and the best we can hope for is to crush those who are weaker than us for our personal gain. I think humans can be better than that, and that everyone wins when we do.

I agree with this. Even our society today isn't even close to equal. It's on the right track, but not there yet.

Wait, are you trying to say we should all go back to 'natural' and abolish civilisation? Are you mad or stupid?

It's basically any government policy or social movement the right wing disagrees with.

The only equality that society can adequately provide is equality before the law.
