I'm sorry, but if the kid has been bad, and misbehaved, at least give him a punishment that doesn't hinder his ability to get about efficiently. I highly doubt a pool noodle or whatever it is will help the boy as much as a cane will. If he's been bad, keep him in during break, don't take away his bloody cane. Rant over.
Apparently they "apologized" and gave his cane back. Isn't it great how that works? The story gets out on the news and social media, and then the school realizes that they better do something to cover themselves, so they "apologize" and everything's sunshine and rainbows again!
I feel sorry for those affected by assholes with power that don't have their stories go viral, since I'm sure if this didn't get spread around, the school would never have bothered to even issue an apology.

Yeah, you're right really. If this didn't gain media attention, I highly doubt the apology would have come quickly from them, if at all. It just annoys me that some jerks with authority can go around, doing stuff without even thinking about the consequences. Complete and utter buffoons.
That's just cruel. I don't care what he did there's no way it was enough for them to hinder his ability to move around. they wouldn't have blindfolded a child that could see for the rest of the day, how is this any different.
That's like if a crippled kid accidentally rolled over someone's toes so they took their wheel chair away and replaced it with one of those office chairs
That's cruel. If someone with the ability to see did something bad you wouldn't take away their ability to get around would you? Why do it to someone who is blind?
What. WHAT?! If I had a blind kid and his school took his cane away I would take legal action to say the least. We're those morons to stupid to realize the poor kid needs the cane to be aware of his surroundings. Those idiots should be blindfolded and be forced to navigate by pool noodle for at least a week. I can't believe those sick heartless bastards would do something like that!
