well have you seen koalas? Drop bears are almost the same as koalas.. ALMOST. Koalas are furry friendly animals that eat gum leaves while drop bears.... they like the taste of human flesh more then leaves sooo to hunt for their prey they would drop from the trees and try to rip your face off
That's what the Australian Department of Natural Resources, National Parks Service and Tourism board want you to think.
.
As if Australia isn't pants wettingly terrifying enough. They don't need people thinking Dropbears are real. A creature that looks exactly just like a cuddly cute koala... but this one drops out of a tree on your head, rips off your face, sucks out your eyes and smashes your skull in to eat your brain.
.
Tourism would plummet.
You can find anti-dropbear shortswords in any convenience store, and they have a little sticker on the hilt that says "ADDP Approved!".
Because dropbears are such a serious problem, the swords are only about $3 each.

But if you want you can get a 'Boxing Kangaroo™'. These fiesty animals provide a high level of protection but their maintenance costs are quite high. Still, better than nothing as they are also ADDP® approved!
Is there repellant? I'm not very skilled with shortsword, and I don't want to have to have an encounter with one if I have a weapon that I'm unfamiliar with.
Vegemite. Dropbears seem to hate it, and will avoid it like nothing else. You need to spread some behind your ears, neck and in your armpits.
.
One of the other "repellants" is to put forks (tines up) in your hair or hat. This might work, but presents the problem of the falling Dropbear jostling the fork(s) loose. Now it's angrier and it has your fork... it will stab/beat you with it.
My highschool (Canada) doesn't have one, although we have a large space in the middle of our school with tables to sit at for lunch, studying or just to skip class (he he)
