I couldn't agree more.

Actually, in The Big Bang Theory is very obviously aimed at the 'nerdy' viewers, hence the billion scientific jokes. Even the creators mentioned in one of the Comic Cons that their target audience had always been people with an interest in science and they work very hard to make all the mathematics and theorems shown in the show scientifically correct.
Agreed. Making light of the steriotypes of exceptionally smart people for cheap laughs.
All the while, using technology that was invented by those same sort of exceptionally smart people to communicate the show and about the show.
.
It might be aimed at nerdy viewers but my feeling it's nerdy viewers with little self respect or don't recognize when they are being made fun of.
.
Let's also not get into the fact that after the pilot and first few episodes the ditzy and super attractive neighbor was recast to be smarter... and less attractive. What kind of message are they trying to communicate there?
Ok, I understand there is stereotyping. But to a certain level, one should be able too make fun of himself. In the end, the creators and writers of the show ARE GEEKS (They've said so and Um... They write the script so duh). I think The Big Bang Theory gets that level just right, at least in what concerns 'geekiness'.
They do, however, overly stereotype women. And that sucks, and I admit it. Penny isn’t a geek. Penny is uninterested in science, literature, comics, sci-fi, and fantasy. Penny, though socially adept, cannot intellectually keep up with any of the characters.
Penny isn’t the only female character to choose from, however. There’s also Leslie Winkle. She’s a physicist, and just as smart as the other characters. However, she is unattractive, unemotional, and uses Leonard for sex. Ok that shit is wrong. Im sorry.

But besides this, TBBT is a pretty cool show. It’s about science, and intellectuals, the value of emotional intelligence in addition to regular intelligence. The factbthat a sitcom about nerds was even greenlit by a major television studio says something good about where geeks are moving in the overall culture. It is even more amazing that the show is made by geeks. PLUS ITS FUNNY AS FUCK
Anyways, thats my opinion. You can have yours.
It takes Sheldon (a genius with a PhD in theoretical physics) an entire episode to figure out that light is both a wave and particle... This is something I learned in grade 11 physics. Just going to put that out there.. Also with out the laugh track it wouldn't be funny but then again with the laugh track it still isn't funny.
