This is funny because I literally wrote the same kind of response on another post and people got so mad, calling me shallow and telling me I "don't understand what it's like". Like, what even?!
I don't like people around me looking and smelling like their clothes came out of a cow's arse because I understand the concept of basic hygiene. Fuck me, right?
Amen. My girlfriend is a thin gothic blond with a fashion blog, she works as make up advisor for Sephora and is a latex model. People expect her to be a dumb bimbo, then they learn she's finishing her masters in artificial intelligence and human-machine communication.
Thanks to her I get free make up and skin care, this is nice. I have long hair and wear skinny jeans, some jewelry and I have super long (and manicured but not painted) nails. People assume I'm gay and an artist. I'm mostly straight and design radiotelescopes.
I've seen people call others shallow because they didn't reciprocate the feelings another had of them. Because they just didn't find them attractive. Because they didn't relate to them and didn't want to try.. But never because of what they wore or how they looked.
A lot of my friends will just wear basketball shorts to school (they don't play basketball) and they ask me why I dont. I just say that I'd prefer to look like I actually care.
