That doesn't have nutritional value energy wise, I think, but technically the atoms still come from a star, probably the sun

Energy-wise, I agree it's pointless, but the chemicals are important for healthy bodily functions. Actually, when I think about it, the elements are probably produced in the core of a star -we didn't get salt from our sun personally, but probably from one from ages ago. So really, not 'converted energised sun-light' -it's bits of star. Cool.
