i watched it other day and i would say it actually was a crappy movie
no story, not even good acting, and considering romantic i would also say the erotic scenes were also kinda boring rather than intimate.
It normalizes rape and domestic abuse. One example would be when he tells her that she's free to leave at any time, but then later says that nobody loves her.

Domestic abuse often starts where one partner professes complete adoration of the other, and then tries to sever any connection to their social life.

And before people reply about the expensive gifts he gave to her, please note that abusers often give their victims cycles of gifts and guilt to make them stay. Often these periods of time are short before the abuser swings back to attacking the victim.
(please excuse my rant and paraphrasing)
I posted a review someone gave of it, and it definitely wouldn't entice anyone to see the movie, so I doubt I'm helping their advertising much. I haven't seen it, nor do I intend to and I haven't read the books. From my understanding it is a very poor adaptation of an unexplanably popular novel, and the underlying story wasn't very good in the first place. I don't know whether its just the internet babble, but it doesn't seem appealing to me.
Same thing happened with Rebecca Black and Friday
And to all those wondering, people hate 50 shades because it portrays abuse as bdsm and romantic even though the grey guy breaks most of the bdsm rules.
Well the script is based of of twilight fanfiction and its basically bondage for people who know nothing about bondage. Its not bad like so bad its good its just kind of boring and slow the characters have all the chemistry of cardboard.
same with the one shitty guy that makes shitty music and evryone knows him, won't say his name^^ i thought so often of this. If they hate him why do they advertise for him? Why dont they talk about what they like and love?
Down vote I guess ? It's very hypocritical seeing as how they're saying it's making it popular by even talking about it but they themselves talk about it
THANK YOU. I say if you're not hurting anyone else, I don't care if you like Fifty Shades or Twilight or freaking clown porn...just watch what you like and don't put people down
Regardless, that thing is shitty and how much some people glorifies it is beyond me. And people are entitled to their opinion anyway, so you really can't expect only good things will comes out in the review.
yeah but there's a big difference between "eh, I don't like it and I think it wasn't well made" and "OMFG YOU ARE AGAINST WOMEN AND HOW YOU CAN YOU LIKE SOMETHING LIKE THAT WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU HAVE HORRIBLE TASTE OMFG IM SUCH AN EXPERT" because that's what I'm getting
Well the first one is painting it as a preference to like the movie, despite it glorifying abuse as a type of sexual act and because of how popular it's getting people will want a relationship like that for some reason.
And the second on is just dramatic and juvenile.
trust me I've gotten both and everything in between. also, not everyone who likes it wants that type of relationship. if it were me I would have put a restraining order on that creepy bastard. but I like the story. and I don't like how people are shaming it and me and judging it before they see it or judging it based on some false pretense. if you don't like it you don't like it and you don't need to watch it. if you do like it then feel free. stop with the hate.
