My friends get mad when I want to leave the chat because they're blowing up my phone while I'm in school and don't want it to get taken up

Put your phone on silent

With the new android update you can't put it on silent. Closest option you have is to not notify which doesn't even give you a notification light.

I had this one friend and we got along really well, we were very similar. However, she was constantly putting me down. Everything I did was always wrong. It bothered me for a long time, but I never said anything because I didn't want to lose her as a friend. A month ago I told her how I felt. She got all pissed off, saying she hasn't done anything wrong, and told me to leave her alone. The next day she came up to me and tried to pretend like nothing happened. I walked away. Now I have great friends who don't put me down. I don't know why I'm posting this. I guess just to say that if you have a friend who treats you wrong, then its okay to walk away. You deserve better.

What would you say if you were in that exact situation, but didn't have many friends to begin with and basically it's most of the little friends you have?

I didn't have many friends to begin with. I had three close friends (including the one who put me down) and a few acquaintances. Honestly, I think that no friends is better than friends who make you feel terrible about yourself.

Well, friends who make you feel bad aren't friends. So it's either no friends or no friends while constantly being berated.

Friends compliment your ugly shirt, best friends tell you your shirt is ugly.

I hate it when people post whiny shit like this, but I have a problem. My best friend is hilarious and awesome, and were super close- but tbh, she makes me feel like crap sometimes. I'm not the smartest person in the world, but whenever I say something she acts like it's legit the stupidest thing she's ever heard, and she's constantly telling me I'm weird (it started out funny, but at this point she's not joking). I guess I just wanted to get that off my chest. Sorry.

That's exactly how it is with me except were not females. And he insists he knows me more than I know myself but really he doesn't know much of anything

If you see her as a real close friend just tell her. In many cases smart and sharp people have really little self confidence and try to hurt rather than get hurt. If she did not see anything in you, she would not be with you anyway, so chances are pretty good, she will adjust her behaviour. If not, you're just her punching ball anyway, so you can tell her to get fucked.

I don't really see how actually intelligent people hurt others because they don't want to get hurt, that to me is dumb and selfish

This is something I think I forgot when I joined a sorority. When I first transferred to the college I'm going to now I wasn't making any friends, so I decided to go through recruitment. I fell in love with the sorority my grandmother was in but when it came down to bid day they didn't have enough spaces so I was cut. However I did get a bid from a different sorority. I tried to stay optimistic but all the girls seem to do was drink and just be an overall negative stereotype of what people think sororities are. I have made friends but it's just not what I wanted it to be. The worst part is that now I can't drop because I already signed a lease to live in the house next year.

As a person with social anxiety, I don't completely agree.

I have social anxiety, depression, and other things. You would think that someone who is sensitive to being the venter of attention would want to be treated nicely instead of insulted for fun.
