The Mongolians tried to attack Japan with 40,000 soldiers. Japan, having been isolated for the past couple of centuries, were very behind in terms of warfare. The Mongolians would have won, except 90% of their ships and soldiers were wiped out by a typhoon. Two years later, they tried again with 140,000 men, only to be wiped out a second time. They then decided that Japan was protected by the gods, and gave up.
History makes me lol sometimes
