I read somewhere that Phineas and Ferb is based off a true story, but in real life, the sister was actually schitzophrenic and used to imagine that her brothers were getting up to all sorts of things. I'm not sure how true that is though.

it's true, the series was based on the sister's diary. the sister comitted suicide in the end because no one would believe her story, her mom didnt believe her story too ( of course because she hallucinated all of the things her brothers did).

I'm pretty sure that was a made up facebook story someone came up with. You can look up how Dan Povenmire and Jeff Marsh came up with the idea though.
