My Xbox had the red ring of death and I replaced some of the cords for $30 and it's still going strong 2 years later

I believe that that ring of death is just a power cord not plugged in all the way or broken, you could just get a new cord that might fix it

The Xbox360 has something called a red ring of death. If it has one (like the one in the pic does) you are SCREWED and you Xbox is broken, you have to buy a whole new one.
