While a domesticated one might (i don't exactly know) to become a pet they cost a lot. Also I've heard that there aren't that much of a difference between the ones raised by humans since babies and the Russian ones. If you got the money sure, by whichever seems good for you. But make sure your state and place of living allows them. Make sure you know how to take care, feed, play, and what type of enclosure they need. (Sorry it's just that I've done plenty of research on pet foxes since I've always wanted one)
Domesticated foxes and tame foxes are actually 2 different things. The domesticated foxes have different poly genes governing their actions and may soon be classified as a different class of species from wild foxes (like how wolves are canis lupis and dogs are canis familiaris)
I guess they do have differences and if you want to get a domesticated fox, that's your opinion and i don't mind. I'm just saying that you can get tamed ones, which I've heard on several occasions that they make good pets. *doffs hat* a good day to you sir, for that informative and well kept dispute.
The Japanese are far more civilized when it comes to animals. The Japanese do not bludgeon and slaughter cats and dogs nor do they skin them alive like the people of Korea and China. If these foxes were in China, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines or Indonesia they would be skinned alive. I love the Japanese people because they are far more civilized and they truly love animals!!
